Another shot of Paignton harbour, this time from a different angle and in better weather ;-)

I think this is a bit blown out in the highlights. The best time to get a night shot is when you have a bit of light in the sky still so that the lights arent so glaring and causing the blow out you can see. Try it again a bit earlier and do a few shots over a period of an hour or two as it gets darker, changing your settings of course and I am sure you will see what I am talking about.

I used to shoot night shots of houses for realtors (estate agents) in South Africa, and I found this was the best time, turn on all the lights in the house and just at dusk start shooting and bracketing until the light had gone in the sky.

Great advice from Lori! :o) You must have so many nice places to go to for photography round your area!! I'd love to get down to Devon sometime, my love of landscapes keeps drawing me there for some reason! :o)
